Who We Are?
Our MissioN
The GeoHikingClub aims to build and educate young geoscientists (students of geology and geophysics) by organizing geological field excursions, workshops, seminars, and hiking trips across Pakistan. The club conducts studies and projects without any discrimination based on sectarian, linguistic, provincial, or religious grounds.

Invitation to Join
All geoscientists are welcome to join us to explore the geology, culture, and scenic views of Pakistan.
Key Objectives
Following are the GHC key objectives.
Inclusive Participation: All members, whether professionals, faculty members, students, or retired professionals, have equal rights and respect. Special accommodations will be made for young students to facilitate their learning.
Nationwide Activities: Activities will be planned and conducted throughout Pakistan to include all universities. Roadside geology, geological mapping along hiking trails, and workshops will be primary focuses. Geological mapping is essential for learning geology.
Financial Support: Subject to financial conditions, students and teachers will receive support for research on various exposed rocks, tectonics, and structures of collisional zones, exploring geology through tectonic windows and valleys.
Expert Contributions: The works of prominent geologists such as Dr. Mir Abdul-Latif, Dr. Munir Ghazanfar, Dr. Nawaz Chaudhry, Tahir Kheli, Dr. Qasim Jan, Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba, Dr. Naveed Ahsan, and Dr. Asif Khan will be utilized. These experts, who have mapped significant areas of the NW Himalaya and defined structural and tectonic boundaries, will hold key positions in the board of directors. They will be acknowledged for their contributions if the maps are updated during field excursions.
